Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca, is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds, which is why it¡¯s one of the top antibacterial essential oils. Tea tree oil is an effective way to treat and eradicate a Demodex mite infestation. Use a tea tree oil shampoo on the hair every day. Tea tree is a volatile essential oil derived mainly from the Australian native plant Melaleuca alternifolia. It¡¯s been widely used throughout Australia for at least the past 100 years and for over seven decades, it¡¯s been documented in numerous medical studies for its ability to kill many strains of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Twenty drops in a tumbler of warm water used as a gargle quickly clear up a sore throat in the early stages; it should be an excellent prophylactic for many infective conditions which gain entrance to the body through the naso-pharynx.
Pregnant women should avoid ingesting and topically applying undiluted essential oils throughout pregnancy. Instead, try inhaling essential oils or adding them to a diffuser.
Make sure to store essential oils out of reach of children. You¡¯ll also want to keep your oils away from excessive light or heat, as this can alter the chemical properties of an essential oil significantly.
Always supervise essential oil application with your children. Because children have more delicate skin, it¡¯s a good idea to dilute oils before applying them topically.
