Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. [Matt 23:23]
The Greek word Heduosmos, or mintha, means ¡°having a sweet smell¡± and refers to ¡°a sweet-smelling herb or mint¡°. The Hebrews used mint as a strewing herb at home and in the Temple, prizing its clean and aromatic scent. They served mint at the Spring Passover Feast of the Paschal Lamb, and today it is one of the ¡°bitter herbs¡± of the paschal feast.

Peppermint essential oil gives a cooling sensation and has a calming effect on the body, which can relieve sore muscles when used topically. It also contains antimicrobial properties, so it can help freshen bad breath and soothe digestive issues. Peppermint is a hybrid species of spearmint and water mint (Mentha aquatica). And it has been proven effective in providing the much-required nourishment to hair. Because of its ability to relax blood vessels and stimulate blood flow to hair follicles, peppermint oil has also been used to stimulate hair growth. The most active ingredients include menthol and menthone.
Pregnant women should avoid ingesting and topically applying undiluted essential oils throughout pregnancy. Instead, try inhaling essential oils or adding them to a diffuser.
Make sure to store essential oils out of reach of children. You¡¯ll also want to keep your oils away from excessive light or heat, as this can alter the chemical properties of an essential oil significantly.
Always supervise essential oil application with your children. Because children have more delicate skin, it¡¯s a good idea to dilute oils before applying them topically.
